🗂️How to Delete Your Account

Voykuh ("we," "us," or "our") provides two ways to delete your account and its associated data. Either option removes the same data.

📲Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

1. Open Account settings

Sign in to Voykuh, open your profile menu, and go to Settings → Account.

2. Find "Delete Account"

Scroll to the Delete Account section at the bottom of the page.

3. Confirm

Select Delete Account, type DELETE to confirm, then confirm the action.

4. Done

Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out. Deletion cannot be undone.

✉️Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't access your account, email privacy@voykuh.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject "Account deletion request." You can also use our contact form and choose Privacy → Delete My Data. We'll verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days.

⚙️What Happens When You Delete

  • Immediate deactivation: Your account is flagged for deletion right away, you're signed out, and the account can't be reactivated.
  • Permanent removal within 30 days: Your profile and content are permanently erased from our active systems within 30 days of the request.
  • Media cleanup: Uploaded images, video, and audio are deleted from storage as part of the same process.

🧹What Data Is Deleted

The following are permanently deleted within 30 days:

  • Profile information: username, display name, avatar, bio, website, and any location text
  • Your content: posts, comments, reposts, citations, and saved simulation snapshots
  • Your interactions: likes, bookmarks, follows, and friend connections
  • Uploaded media: images, video, and audio
  • Account & security data: registered devices and login activity tied to your account

🗄️What Data Is Retained (and for how long)

A limited set of data may be retained after deletion, only as described below:

  • Encrypted backups: Residual copies may remain in routine encrypted backups and are overwritten within 90 days.
  • Security & abuse-prevention logs: Minimal records (such as moderation and security logs) may be kept for up to 12 months to protect the platform and other users.
  • Legal obligations: Where we're required by law, or where records are subject to an active investigation or legal hold, we retain only what's necessary for as long as the law requires.

💡 Note

Deletion is permanent. We can't recover your account or content once you've confirmed deletion.

🧩Deleting Some Data Without Closing Your Account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. You can delete individual posts and comments at any time from within the app, and they follow the same 30-day permanent-removal process.
